It’s been more than 55 years since Louis Paul Boon, one of the greatest writers in Belgian history, wrote “De kleine eva uit de kromme bijlstraat”. The poem is a cynical account of how society reacts to the murder of a young girl (“Little Eva”). Boon based his story on a real child murder of his time. The skillful writing and flawless evocation of doubt and emotions make this a timeless classic.
Accordionist Tuur Florizoone and actress Jessa Wildemeersch deliver a touching interpretation of this 20th century masterpiece, by way of a musical theatre performance. It won't be their first collaboration either: this is already the fourth time Tuur and Jessa work together on a musical project.
Now that they’ve based their performance on the original text of Louis Paul Boon, you’re guaranteed to have an excellent afternoon.
